ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø has celebrated the opening of its new state-of-the-art campus in Tewkesbury as students were welcomed with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by speeches from their principals.
The new campus will host 142 students and 27 members of staff and replaces ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø’s former campus in Gloucester. The new building has been over two and a half years in the making, with a comprehensive fit-out programme supported by a true community effort, with numerous parents and volunteers getting involved to prepare the new campus for the students.
Newly appointed Campus Principal Chris Reynolds was joined by Regional Principal Sarah Bennett and a number of ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½¹ÙÍøs Global’s Year 13 students to cut the ribbons and present the modern facilities to the students which range from Year 3 to Year 13.
ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø, which has 24 campuses across the UK and is attended by children from the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, follows an innovative pedagogy, the ‘Learning to Learn’ framework, where students are supported by teachers to take ownership of their learning and develop the skills they need for self-direction in their learning.
To support this framework, the campus in Tewkesbury has a technology-rich learning environment equipped with a range of Learning Zones with a variety of resources and seating options to enable students to select the learning space most suited to the work they are undertaking.
OSG is also renowned for its commitment to teacher development which is driven by a dedicated Teacher Academy. This enables staff to develop new skills and to grow as educators, within a school that is at the leading edge of the digital transformation of education. The opening represents an exciting opportunity for more teachers in the region to join the extensive network of schools.
